Remember the Maine

A strong cocktail with the flavor of a past era

Ingrédients [ oz \| cl ]	[ Mon bar ]
2 oz Rye Whiskey	[ Ajouter ]
0.5 c. à café Absinthe	[ Ajouter ]
2 c. à café Liqueur de cerise	[ Ajouter ]
³⁄₄ oz Vermouth rouge	[ Ajouter ]

Méthode: Préparer dans un shaker
Verre: old-fashioned
Recette:

Add the absinthe to a chilled glass.
Roll around to coat and discard the excess.
Add the rest of the ingredients into
a mixing glass with ice and stir well.
Strain into the prepared glass, and garnish with a brandied cherry.

Named after the press slogan, "Remember the Maine, to Hell with Spain" blaming Spain for the unexplained sinking of the U.S.S. Maine off Cuba in 1898.
