Sangria

Sangria

A very popular wine punch typical of Spain and Portugal.

[Aperitif] [Classic] [Family Gathering] [Girly] [Glamour] [Happy Hour] [Party] [Poolside] [Punch] [Red] [Refreshing] [Strong] [Sweet]

Ingredients [ oz | cl ][ My Bar ]
26 oz Red Wine[ Add ]
3 oz Port Wine[ Add ]
3 oz Brandy[ Add ]
3 oz Orange Liqueur[ Add ]
4 tbsps Sugar[ Add ]
1 Orange[ Add ]
1 Lemon[ Add ]
Method: Prepare in a bowl
Glass: Saucer
Recipe:
  1. Pour a bottle of red wine (Spanish wine is even better - just don't use an expensive bottle) in a pitcher.
  2. The pitcher needs to be large enough to contain all the ingredients. A 32 oz (1L) container will be fine.
  3. Add the Port, the Brandy and the Orange liqueur (Triple Sec is fine).
  4. Add the sugar.
  5. Slice half the orange and half the lemon and add them in the mix.
  6. Juice the other halves and add in the mix.
  7. Add any fruits readily available in the mix - chunks of strawberries, nectarines, apples, melons, etc. are good choices.
  8. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  9. Let the mix rest in the fridge for about 24 hours for better results.
  10. Serve in wine glasses, saucers or tulip glasses with ice cubes.
