Method: Prepare in shaker
Glass: Cocktail
Recipe:

1. Frost a cocktail glass rim with fine sugar and leave it in freezer while preparing the drink.
2. Pour ingredients in shaker with ice and shake for 12 seconds. (Not the cherry...)
3. Pour in the cooled glass and add the maraschino cherry. (No ice cubes!!)
4. Suggestion: save half a skinned wedge of grapefruit and add it to/replace the maraschino cherry.

Volume: 3.5 oz
Alcohol by volume: 16%

History

I haven't search for a prior occurrence of this drink (although there is the Ladyfriend or Grapefruit Amaretto Sour out there but those are other variants) so I may not have invented it.
However, I thought about it one evening when I found the pink grapefruit juice that was left in a bowl after my wife prepared the desert for our guests.
So when the after dinner came, I tested it on the aforementioned guests with success. It has been adopted ever since.
