According to Wikipedia:
The cocktail was supposedly invented about 1905 in a bar named Venus in Santiago, about 23 miles east of the mine, by a group of American mining engineers. Among the engineers present were Jennings Cox, General Manager of the Spanish American Iron Co. Although stories persist that Cox invented the drink when he ran out of gin while entertaining American guests, the drink evolved naturally due to the prevalence of lime and sugar.
A classic fizz. One of Iron Chef Michael Symons favorite drinks. This drink is essentially an alcoholic meringue (as in lemon meringue pie) - don't be afraid of the egg or you will seriously miss out on one of the best and easiest drinks to make ever.
Wonderful tropical treat perfect for sipping poolside
This maraschino-flavored Daiquiri makes for a great evening summer cocktail.
Un excellent classic que je redécouvre alors que je n'ai plus de limes pour mon Daiquiri
Simple. Classic. Delicious.
Bright citrus drink whose character will reflect your choice of rum.
A no-carb sweet drink. Fun, but rather eerie cloudy white.

You must have the small version of the cocktail glass (3 oz). 4 oz glasses are more common. I also just added my own version of the Ron Sour (Rum Sour).

actually the recipe for a sour drink (this is ron sour) is 50 cc of a distilled drink, 30 cc lemon juice and necessary ammount of sugar. 1 liquid oz. equals to 29.4 (rounded to 30) cc, so this would make 60 cc. Taking into account the fact that the Cocktail glass only has 90 cc, and that by shaking it or stirring (yes, you can also stir this drink) anything you'll get around 10 cc of water (from the ice), you can see that with already 90 cc of ingredients you'd have to fill the glass to the very top, and you'd drop some drink while carrying it
